- Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team → Mercedes F-AMG. Mercedes, following the expiration of title sponsorship by Petronas, renamed to Mercedes FAMG, the F inserted to represent "Formula". Petronas remained a major sponsor, just not titular.
- Hyundai: BMW → Ferrari, Hyundai F1 Team → Posoco Hyundai Ferrari. Mercede's flagship team, Hyundai, declared a 3-year deal with Ferrari following the expiration of their BMW engine arrangement. They gain title sponsorship from South Korean company Posoco, and some extra sponsorship from Ferrari. BMW would be looking for a further two partners for the 2020 season, with at least one of them having a podium-capable car.
- Renault: Red Bull Renault Works Team → Renault F1 Team. Renault does not renew its title sponsorship contract with former team owner Red Bull, instead opting to stay without a title sponsor.
Driver changes[]
- Daniel Ricciardo: McLaren → retirement. After a 7-year career, Daniel Ricciardo retires from McLaren.
- Tarou Wakahisa: Test driver → McLaren. Tarou Wakahisa is promoted from Honda (Minardi and McLaren) test driver to full McLaren driver, to replace the outgoing Ricciardo.
